"Kathleen Holmes’ dress-shaped sculptures suggest cultural aspects and particular time periods, as well as the universal experiences of womanhood. In addition to being charming, they are also thought provoking and draw you into a specific world, each sculpture telling its own story. Kathleen’s glass pieces are cast from her ceramic and mixed media sculpture. Some works incorporate crocheted fabric which leaves a detailed impression in the mold; the texture is then picked up by the glass and the color is added afterwards." - Pismo Gallery
