C.T. Whitehouse

"C.T. Whitehouse creates simple vessel forms, allowing the natural qualities of bronze to shine through. He prefers the energy of casting bronze, poured at a temperature of 2,000 degrees, the orange glow of molten metal cooling and hardening, occasionally capturing interesting imperfections. The raw form is then chased, or prepared for finishing using grinding tools and by sanding the surface by hand. The patina of each piece is created by heating and chemically oxidizing the bronze, giving each piece its unique look. Finally, the edges of the forms are highly polished until they hold a halo of light. The artist's signature marks his pleasure in completing this art." - The Artful Home
